  • A calculating ability of adding integer number was a child's ability in operating a mount of numbers in the form of number, i.e. 0 number, positive number (+) and negative number (-). When the calculating ability got some deficits it would prevent the ability in doing assignments or daily activities. Hearing impairment child was an individual who got deficit or loss of hearing ability as the impact of damage or the malfunction of a part or all auditory instruments. The problem formulation of this research was how to enhance the calculating ability of adding integer number to the D IV class of hearing impairment children in SLB Putra Mandiri Sidoarjo by using slide rule. This research was done to the D IV class of hearing impairment children in SLB Putra Mandiri Sidoarjo who had deficit or loss of hearing ability as the impact of damage or the malfunction of a part or all auditory instruments, therefore it required calculating training to know the child's ability and the calculating training was conveyed through slide rule. This research used class treatment with MC model design. The data collection methods in this research were observation, test, and documentation. The analysis data in this research was done to describe the change of applying treatment through slide rule in repairing and enhancing the calculating ability of adding integer number to hearing impairment children. The analysis data applied in this research was reflection analysis base cycles. The finding of research indicated that the hearing impairment children's calculating ability of adding integer number increased which was showed in cycle I and cycle II. The score of calculating ability of adding integer number which was showed in the result of treatment base cycles was found cycle II > cycle I while the average of calculating ability of adding integer number increased from 37,5% to 13%.
