- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa, (2) perbedaan hasil belajar IPA siswa, dan (3) secara simultan perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dalam seting saintifik dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan disain penelitian post-test only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD gugus IV Kecamatan Kuta Selatan yang berjumlah 461 orang dan sebanyak 82 orang siswa dipilih menjadi sampel dengan teknik random sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner motivasi belajar dan tes hasil belajar IPA. Data dianalisis dengan uji statistik manova satu jalan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dalam seting saintifik dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, (2) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dalam seting saintifik dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, dan (3) terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dalam seting saintifik dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Kata Kunci : group investigation (GI), hasil belajar IPA, model pembelajaran kooperatif, motivasi belajar, seting saintifik This study aims to determine: (1) differences in student motivation, (2) differences in learning outcomes of student to science subject, and (3) simultaneously differences in motivation and learning outcomes of students to science who took the learning cooperative learning model (GI) of the group investigation in a scientific setting with conventional learning. This researche is a quasi-experimental study post-test only control group design. The population in this study were 461 of the fifth elementary students of gugus IV in south kuta district and 82 students among all of them were chosen as random sampling. The data of this research was collected by using questionnaire motivation and achievement test of science subject. The data of this research were analyzed with statistical manova test one way. The result of this study indicate that: (1) there were differences in students' motivation to follow the study with (GI) group investigation cooperative learning model in setting scientific with students who followed the conventional teaching, (2) there were differences in science learning outcomes to students who took the learning cooperative learning model of group investigation in a scientific setting with students who joined the conventional teaching, and (3) there were differences in learning motivation and learning outcomes students to science with cooperative learning model in setting scientific group investigation with students who had the conventional teaching. keyword : cooperative learning, group investigation (GI), learning motivation, science learning outcomes, scientific setting
