- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis multikultural terhadap hasil belajar IPS ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan The Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Gugus I Mengwi Kabupaten Badung yang berjumlah 224 siswa. Sebanyak 102 siswa dipilih sebagai sampel yang ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Data motivasi belajar dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner dan hasil belajar menggunakan tes pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis Anava A-B berbantuan SPSS 17.00 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Pertama, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPS antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis multikultural dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Kedua, terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara penerapan pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar. Ketiga, untuk siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis multikultural dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Keempat, untuk siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPS antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis multikultural dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional.Kata Kunci : hasil belajar IPS, motivasi belajar, pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis multikultural This research aims to investigate the effect of multicultural based contextual learning towards social science learning outcomes viewed from students learning motivation. This is a quasi-experimental research using The Post-test Only Control Group design. Population in this research was the entire fifth grade students in cluster I Mengwi, Badung Regency which consisted of 224 students. One hundred and two students were selected as sample using random sampling technique. Data on learning motivation were collected using questionnaire, whereas data on learning achivement were collected using multiple choice test. Data were analyzed using Two Way ANOVA assisted by SPSS 17.00 for windows. The results show that: First, there was a difference in social science learning outcomes between students who learned using multicultural based contextual learning and students who learned using conventional learning. Second, there was an interaction effect between learning implementation and learning motivation toward social science learning outcomes. Third, for students who had higher learning motivation, there was a difference in social science learning outcomes between students who learned using multicultural based contextual learning and students who learned using conventional learning. Fourth, for students who had lower learning motivation, there was no difference in social science learning outcomes between students who learned using multicultural based contextual learning and students who learned using conventional learning.keyword : learning motivation, multicultural based contextual learning, social science learning outcomes
