- Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk : 1) mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kreatif siswa kelas VII SMP N 1 Negara antara yang mengikuti metode Mind Mapping dan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional. 2) mengetahui perbedaan perbedaan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan antara yang mengikuti metode Mind Mapping dan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional. 3) Mengetahui secara bersama-sama perbedaan perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kreatif dan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan antara yang mengikuti metode Mind Mapping dan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang jumlahnya 220 orang. Sampel 137 orang ditentukan dengan uji kesetaraan kelas. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah posttest only control group design. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif diukur dengan tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan hasil belajar IPS dikukur dengan post test yang telah di uji prasyarat. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah manova. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1)terdapat perbedaan Keterampilan berfikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti metode pembelajaran Mind Mapping dengan rata-rata 66,93 dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional dengan rata-rata 59,12.; (2) Terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan metode Mind Mapping dengan rata-rata 82,06 dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional dengan rata-rata 78,68; (3) terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berfikir kreatif dan prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri No 1 Pekutatan secara simultan antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan metode Mind Mapping dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Kata Kunci : Mind Mapping, Kemampuan Berfikir Kreatif, Prestasi Belajar IPS This study was aimed at: 1) determining differences in creative thinking abilities of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan through Mind Mapping method and conventional learning model. 2) determining the differences of social studies learning achievement of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan through Mind Mapping method and conventional learning model. 3) determining the differences of creative thinking ability andsocial studies learning achievement of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan through Mind Mapping method and conventional learning model. This study was conducted at Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan in the academic year 2013/2014. The population was 220 students. The sample of 137 students was taken by using equivalence classes testing. The design used in this study was a posttest only control group design. Creative thinking abilities were measured by creative thinking abilities test and social studies learning achievement was measured by post-test. The data were analyzed using Manova The results of this study showed that: 1) there were significant differences in creative thinking abilities of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan between students who were treated using Mind Mapping method with an average score 66,93 and students who treated using conventional learning model with an average score 59,12. 2) there were significant differences in social studies learning achievement of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan between students who were treated using Mind Mapping with an average score 82.06 and students who were treated using conventional learning model with an average score 78,68. 3) there were simultaneous differences in creative thinking abilities and socialstudies learning achievement of Eight grade students of SMP N 1 Pekutatan between students who were treated using Mind Mapping with students who were treated using Mind Mapping with students who were treated using conventional learning modelkeyword : Mind Mapping method, Creative Thinking Ability, Learning Achievement
