- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa dan sikap mandiri anak melalui peng-gunaan metode bercerita dengan media gambar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelompok A TK Negeri Pembina Bangli. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 20 orang anak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan metode observasi dengan instrumen kemampuan berbahasa dan sikap mandiri, analisis data dilakukan dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan kriteria ketuntasan adalah ≥ 65 . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan akhir siklus I kemampuan berbahasa anak dengan klasifikasi baik 45%, cukup 55%, skor rata-rata 57.07 dengan klasifikasi cukup. Pada akhir siklus II kemampuan berbahasa sangat baik 65%, baik 35%, tidak ada anak dengan klasifikasi cukup dan kurang, skor rata-rata 76.34 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik. Sedangkan sikap mandiri klasifikasi baik 40%, cukup 60%, skor rata-rata 54.64 dengan klasifikasi cukup. Akhir siklus II meningkat sangat baik 60%, baik 40% dan skor rata-rata 77.58 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik..Kata Kunci : Metode Bercerita, Media Gambar, Kemampuan Berbahasa, Sikap Mandiri This study aimed at analyzing and describing the kindergarten students’ language ability and self independence by using pictures supporting story-telling method. This study was carried out in Group A in TK Negeri Pembina Bangli. The respondents were 20 students. The research method used was classroom action research that was conducted in 2 cycles. The data were collected through observation method by using language ability and self-independence instruments. To analyze the data, the researcher used used descriptive technique, and the standard of minimum completenes of mastery learning was ≥ 65. The findings of the study indicated that the use of pictures supporting story-telling method nhanced the kindergarten students’ language ability and the self- independence. At the end of the first cycle, it revealed that the students’ language ability that belonged to Good category was 45%, Fair category was 55%, the students’ Mean score was 57.07 that was categorized as Fair. While at the end of the second cycle, the percentage of students’ language ability showed that Very Good category was 65%, Good category was 35%, and there were no students in Fair or Fail category, the Mean score was 76.34 that belonged to Very Good category. Moreover, at the end of the first cycle, it showed that the percentage of students’ self- independence was 40% in Good category, and 60% in Fair category, the students’ Mean score was 54.64 in Fair category. Meanwhile, at the end of the second cycle, it improved to be 60% in Very Good category, and 40% in Good category, the Mean score was 77.58 that was categorized as Very Good.keyword : Pictures, Story Telling Method, Language Ability, Self-Independence
