  • [<b>ABSTRAK</b><br> Sebagai negara dengan jumlah penduduk terbesar di dunia serta tingkat pertumbuhan dan pembangunan ekonomi yang pesat, China memiliki environmental power yang memberikan daya tawar bagi China dalam negosiasi-negosiasi isu lingkungan hidup global, terutama dalam isu perubahan iklim. Literature review ini akan membahas faktorfaktor apa saja yang berperan dalam membentuk karakter China dalam kebijakan luar negeri dan diplomasi lingkungan global. Adapun faktor-faktor yang ditemukan dalam literature review ini adalah politik domestik, ekonomi, citra internasional dan kepemimpinan China, kepentingan dalam rezim lingkungan internasional, perlindungan kedaulatan dan kemandirian nasional, serta pengaruh/tekanan internasional terhadap China. Ditemukan bahwa faktor ekonomi yang selalu muncul dalam pembahasan literatur-literatur yang digunakan memiliki latar belakang historis yang kurang dieksplorasi. <hr> <b>ABSTRACT</b><br> As a country with the world's largest population and rapid economic growth and development, China has an environmental power which increases China?s bargaining power in global environmental negotiations, notably in the climate change issue. This literature review will elaborate various factors affecting China?s character in global environmental foreign policy and diplomacy. Various factors identified in this literature review are domestic politics, economy, China's international image and leadership, interests in international environmental regimes, protection of national sovereignty and self-reliance, and international influence/pressure on China.
