Pemanfaatan energi terbarukan di Indonesia masih rendah, dibandingkan minyak (34%), batubara (20%), dan gas (20%), pemanfaatan sumber energi untuk air 3%, panas bumi 1%, bahan bakar nabati 2%, dan biomassa 20%. Padahal sumber energi yang tidak terbarukan semakin menipis akibat meningkatnya konsumsi minyak bumi sebagai bahan bakar. Hal ini membuat kita harus mencari alternative renewable energy, salah satunya adalah bio-ethanol. Dalam penelitian ini memanfaatkan bio-ethanol, hasil destilasi, sebagai bahan bakar pencampur pada motor dinamis berbahan bakar premium serta membandingkan performa motor dengan melakukan simulasi CFD (dengan Fluent 6.3.26) pembakaran dengan variasi bio-ethanol tersebut (E10 dan E20). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campuran premium dengan bio-ethanol (E20) menunjukkan kualitas pembakaran yang baik, yang menghasilkan performa dan emisi yang optimum.

<b>ABSTRACT</b><br>
Utilization of renewable energy in Indonesia is still minimum, compared to oil (34%), coal (20%), gas (20%), energy source of water 3%, geothermal 1%, biofuel 2%, and biomass 20%. While unrenewable energy source is decreasing, due to increase of it consumption for fuel. It makes us need to look for alternative renewable energy, with bio-ethanol as one of it. This research uses bio-ethanol, distillation result, as mixed fuel to dynamic engine with gasoline fuel, and compares engine performance by doing CFD simulation combustion (with Fluent 6.3.26) with bio-ethanol variation of E10 and E20. The research result revealed that gasoline mixture with bio-ethanol (E20) showed a good quality of combustion, which produce optimal performance and emission.</description><subject>Biomass energy</subject><identifier>20349896</identifier><recordID>20349896</recordID></dc>
