umur. Banyak penelitian yang telah membuktikan bahwa hipertensi merupakan
faktor risiko utama terjadinya penyakit degeneratif lainnya. Sebagian besar kasus
(90%) penyebab dari hipertensi tidak diketahui, sedangkan 10% lainnya
disebabkan oleh penyakit-penyakit yang sudah diketahui seperti aterosklerosis,
tumor pada kelenjar adrenal, atau malfungsi ginjal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui prevalensi hipertensi dan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan
kejadian hipertensi pada lansia di posyandu lansia wilayah Kecamatan Johar Baru
Jakarta Pusat tahun 2013. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan
desain studi cross sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah lansia yang terdaftar di
posyandu lansia wilayah Kecamatan Johar Baru Jakarta Pusat tahun 2013
sebanyak 75 orang. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan proporsi lansia yang
mengalami hipertensi adalah sebesar 62,7%. Tekanan sistolik tertinggi adalah 240
mmHg, sedangkan tekanan diastolik tertinggi adalah 150 mmHg. Faktor-faktor
yang berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi dalam penelitian ini adalah riwayat
hipertensi keluarga (PR: 3,216 dengan 95% CI: 1,587-6,515), dan riwayat
penyakit Diabetes Melitus (PR: 2,375 dengan 95% CI: 1,366-4,128). Hubungan
yang tidak bermakna secara statistik terdapat pada hubungan antara jenis kelamin,
pendidikan, pekerjaan, status perkawinan, IMT, asupan natrium, asupan lemak,
aktifitas fisik, kebiasaan merokok, dan stres dengan hipertensi., Hypertension is the third major cause of death in Indonesia for all ages. Much
research has proven that hypertension is the major risk factor for the onset of
degenerative disease. Most of the cases (90%) cause of hypertension is unknown,
while 10% other caused by diseases already known as atheroschlerosis, tumor on
the adrenal glands, or kidney malfunctions. This research aims to know the
prevalence of hypertension and factors that related with the incidencce of
hypertension in elderly at elderly posyandu subdistrict Johar Baru, Central Jakarta
2013. This research is quantitative research with cross sectional design study.
Sample research is elderly who registered at elderly posyandu subdistrict Johar
Baru, Central Jakarta 2013 as many as 75 people. Result of this research to get the
proportions of elderly who suffer hypertension is 62,7%. Highest systolic pressure
is 240 mmHg, while the highest diastolic pressure is 150 mmHg. Factors related
to the incidence of hypertension in this research is a family history of
