- <b>ABSTRAK</b><br> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bentuk-bentuk representasi Vladimir Putin sebagai kandidat presiden Rusia pada Pemilu 2012 dalam berita politik, khususnya dalam bentuk teks, oleh media online Pravda.ru. Teks-teks yang dianalisis adalah sumber data yang dimuat pada masa Pra-pemilu yang dimulai dari 27 November 2011 hingga 3 Maret 2012. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang ditulis oleh Norman Fairclough: Analisis Wacana Kritis (2003) dan M.A.K Halliday: Tata Bahasa Fungsional (1994) dan Konteks Situasi (1989) untuk mengungkapkan tujuan penelitian ini. Berdasarkan proses analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar bentuk representasi Vladimir Putin terkait dengan posisinya dalam pemerintahan, khususnya sebagai Presiden Federasi Rusia selama dua masa berturut-turut (2000-2008), dan Perdana Menteri Federasi Rusia (2008-2012). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, bentuk-bentuk representasi Vladimir Putin pada sumber data dipengaruhi oleh kekuasaan. <hr> <b>ABSTRACT</b><br> The aim of this study is to reveal the representation forms of Vladimir Putin as The Russian Presidential Candidate in 2012 Election in political news, specifically in the text form, by online media Pravda.ru. The texts that are analyzed are the data sources that posted during pre-election day that is from 27th November 2011 until 3rd March 2012. This study using theories written by Norman Fairclough: Critical Discourse Analysis (2003) and by M.A.K Halliday: Context of Situation (1989) and Functional Grammar (1994) in order to reveal the aim of this study. Based on the analysis, most of the representation forms for Vladimir Putin related to his positions in government, especially as the president of Russian Federation for two terms consecutively (2000-2008) and the prime minister of Russian Federation (2008-2012). Therefore, the representation forms of Vladimir Putin in data sources are strongly connected to power.
