- <b>ABSTRAK</b><br> Dalam Neraca Gas Indonesia, wilayah Indonesia dibagi menjadi 11 region. Dari 11 region tersebut, pada tahun 2007 terdapat 3 region yang dinyatakan kekurangan gas, yaitu region II (Sumatera Bagian Utara), region VI (Kalimantan Bagian Timur) dan region IX (Papua). Pengembangan fasilitas gas bumi pada wilayah-wilayah yang kekurangan pasokan gas merupakan peluang bisnis yang sangat menarik. <br><br> Proyek pembangunan fasilitas gas bumi yang dilakukan di wilayah Sumatera Bagian Utara mempunyai tingkat keekonomian yang sangat menarik, tetapi tingkat resikonya berada pada Zona ALARP (As Low As Reasonable Practise). Evaluasi juga dilakukan berdasarkan Monte Carlo Simulation dengan menggunakan software Crystal Ball. Upaya-upaya mitigasi resiko proyek dilakukan untuk menurunkan tingkat resiko hingga mencapai Zona Acceptable. Dengan memperhitungkan biaya mitigasi resiko proyek sebesar US$ 17,611,053/tahun, tingkat keekonomian dari proyek pembangunan fasilitas gas bumi di wilayah Sumatera Bagian Utara masih menarik untuk dilaksanakan. <hr> <b>ABSTRACT</b><br> In the Indonesia Gas Balance, Indonesia?s area is divided into 11 regions. On 2007, there were 3 gas defisit regions, which is region II (Northern Sumatera), region VI (Eastern Kalimantan) and region IX (Papua). The development of natural gas facilities in the areas that defisit of gas supply is a very attractive business opportunity. <br><br> Natural gas facility development project that undertaken in the Northern Sumatera Region has a very interesting economic level, but the risk level is at ALARP (As Low As Reasonable Practise) Zone. Evaluation is also conducted based on the Monte Carlo Simulation using the Crystal Ball software. Project risk mitigation efforts undertaken to reduce the risk level to achieve The Acceptable Zone. Taking the project risk mitigation cost for US$ 17,611,053 / year into economic calculation, the economic value of natural gas facility development project in the Northern Sumatera Region remains attractive to be implemented
