- [<b>ABSTRAK</b><br> Tesis ini bertujuan menggambarkan sikap bahasa siswa terhadap bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris, disamping mengetahui motivasi belajar bahasa siswa terhadap kedua bahasa tersebut. <hr> <b>ABSTRACT</b><br> This thesis aims to portray students' attitude toward bahasa Indonesia and English. In addition it tries to find out their motivation in studying those two subjects. Therefore, some hypotheses were proposed. The objects of this research were senior high school students in Bandarlampung. 109 students were taken to be the samples. The data were collected through questionnaires which consist of 56 questions of attitude aspect and 43 questions for motivation aspect. Likert scale was used to measure those two aspects. The data collected were then analyzed by using product moment to see the correlation between attitude and motivation with student's achievement. Simple regression was applied to seek the influence of attitude and motivation toward bahasa Indonesia and English subjects. To sum tip toward bahasa Indonesia students have favourable feeling as well as toward English. I lowever, they have low motivation of learning toward those two languages. Language attitude as well as motivation of learning influence the achievement on bahasa Indonesia and English subjects.
