- [Gemuk lithium kompleks azelat dibuat dengan menambahkan pengompleks asam azelat dan lithium serta sabun lithium konvensional dengan asam 12-hidroksistearat dan lithium pada base oil. Pada penelitian ini bahan penyusun gemuk yaitu base oil dari minyak sawit yang di epoksidasi, lithium hidroksida, asam 12-hidroksistearat dan asam azelat yang dikomposisikan untuk mendapatkan gemuk sesuai standard internasional. Berdasarkan penelitian yang pernah dilakukan didapatkan hasil gemuk lithium kompleks terbaik dengan komposisi asam azelat sebesar 2,5% dari bobot keseluruhan gemuk yang dibuat. Dalam penelitian ini gemuk lithium kompleks azelat dibuat dengan memvariasikan asam azelat sebesar 0%, 1%, 2,5%, 3% dan 4%. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini adalah gemuk lithium kompleks azelat dengan nilai dropping point di atas 220_C dengan nilai NLGI 2 dan 3 ., Lithium azelaic complex grease is made by adding azelaic acid as complexing agent and lithium as well as conventional lithium soap with 12-hidroxystearic acid and lithium on the base oil. In this study the raw material of grease that is base oil from epoxidized palm oil, lithium hydroxide, 12-hidroxyistearic acid and azelaic acid are composed to get grease that fulfill international standards. Based on the conducted study lithium complex grease obtained best results with azelaic acid composition of 2.5% of total grease weight are made. In this study, lithium complex grease is made by varying azelaic acid 0%, 1%, 2.5%, 3% and 4%.
