Posisi lidah menurut klasifikasi Wright berdasarkan usia dan jenis kelamin pada pasien gigi tiruan penuh rahang bawah yang datang ke klinik prostodonsia RSGMP FKG-UI periode Januari 2005-Juni 2007
Daftar Isi:
The tongue position plays a major role in the retention and stability of the mandibular complete denture. Although everyone has a normal tongue position at birth, some lose it, and as a result they acquire an abnormal position (retracted tongue). The cause of this change can be related to the height of mouth floor. Thus, it can be assumed that the tongue position may be related to the alveolar ridge resorption which influenced by age and sex. This test used 75 medical records of mandibular complete denture patients who came to Prosthodontic Clinic of Dental Hospital Faculty of Dentistry University of Indonesia within January 2005 ? June 2007 period which fulfilled the criteria. By descriptive method, univariate statistical analysis is presented in the frequency distribution of age, sex, and tongue position according to Wright classification. By analytic method, bivariate statistical analysis using Two Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test was done to analyze the relationship between age and the tongue position according to Wright classification and the difference of tongue position according to Wright classification in female and male patients. The result showed that significance value is 1,000 (p > 0,005). It was concluded that (1) The Class I tongue position according to Wright classification is the most condition occurred between the patients and the Class III tongue position according to Wright classification is the less condition found. (2) There is no relationship between age and the tongue position according to Wright classification. (3) There is no significant difference of tongue position according to Wright classification in female and male patients., stability.
