PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING DENGAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA SMA

- Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model discovery learning dengan pendekatan saintifik dan yang diajar menggunakan model cooperative learning dengan pendekatan saintifik dan besarnya pengaruh model discovery learning dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit di kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian “control group pre-test post-test”. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 64 siswa. Data analisis menggunakan uji U Mann Whitney. Hasil data menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit antara siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model discovery learning dengan pendekatan saintifik dan yang diajar menggunakan model cooperative learning dengan pendekatan saintifik. Pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning dengan pendekatan saintifik memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 28,23% dengan perhitungan Effect Size sebesar 0,78. Kata kunci: model discovery learning, pendekatan saintifik, keterampilan berpikir kritis, Abstract: This research is purposed to determine the differences between the students’ critical thinking skills which is taught by using discovery learning model through scientific approach and which is taught by using cooperative learning model through scientific approach and the effect size of discovery learning model through scientific approach towards students’ critical thinking skill on the material of non-electrolyte and electrolyte solution of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences in SMAN 7 Pontianak. The method of the research that is being used is quasi-experimental with the research design “control group pre-test post-test”. This sample of research is 64 students. The data of analysis is using U Mann Whitney. The data result shows that there is a difference between the students’ critical thinking skill which is taught by using discovery learning model through scientific approach and which is taught by using cooperative learning model through scientific approach. The learning process that is using discovery learning model through scientific approach gives influence towards the increasing students’ critical thinking skill up to 28.23% with the calculation of effect size up to 0.78.Keywords: model of discovery learning, scientific approach, critical thinking skill, electrolytes and non-electrolytes solutions
