- This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Traits and Factor group counseling on the career decision-making abilities of XI Religion students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pontianak. Based on this problem the researcher wants to test whether Traits and Factor group counseling can improve students' career decision-making abilities. The research method used was an experiment in the form of a Pre-Experimental Design with a Pre-test – Post-test One Group Design research design. Subjects or samples were taken based on non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. The sample was taken as many as 10 people who have a low level of career decision making from a population of 36 people, namely students of class XI Religion. Based on the calculations, the average pre-test (before being given treatment) was 103 and post-test (after being given treatment) was 128. Furthermore, the T count was obtained using the Paired Sample T-test, namely -7,554 with a Sig. (2 tailed) 0.00 <0.05 which means Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, thus there is a significant difference in student career decision making between before and after being given the Traits and Factor group counseling. So it can be concluded that Traits and Factor group counseling is effective for improving career decision making for students of class XI Religion at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pontianak.
