- This study intends to determine the effectiveness of the outdoor study learning model on social studies learning outcomes for classVIII students of MTS Negeri 1 Mempawah Hilir. Researchers useda quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach. A total of29 students from class VIII B and 35 students from class VIII Cparticipated in this study. Assessment techniques and documentarystudies were used to collect data information and multiple choiceobjective tests as research instruments. Data analysis resulted thatthe posttest score of the experimental class was 86.38 while theposttest value of the control class was 73.29, the difference was13.09. This shows that there is a significant comparison between thetwo data. The results of the pretest and posttest in the experimentalclass and in the control class were not normally distributed, with avalue of 0.000, according to the data normality test. Finally, it wascontinued using the Wilcoxon hypothesis test and calculated to givea value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that Ha is accepted and Ho isrejected. Therefore, this outdoor study learning model is valid andeffective. In addition, the final result of the effect size test has a valueof 0.85 > 0.8 so it is in the high category. The purpose of this findingis to explain that the outdoor study model is effective in improvingsocial studies learning outcomes for class VIII students of MTSNegeri 1 Mempawah Hilir in the high category)
