- The main purpose of this study was to find out SMAN 3 Pontianak students’ engagement in the online EFL classroom. Specifically, there were four aspects of engagement that has been investigated: behavioral, social, cognitive, and emotional engagement. In order toachieve the research purpose, the measurement, observation, anddocumentation techniques have been conducted to collect the data.The findings revealed that students’ overall learning engagement inthe English subject was in the moderate level. Then, it was alsoanalyzed and interpreted that student had high level of behavioral andcognitive engagement, followed by moderate level of social andemotional engagement.
