  • AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using clinical interviews to reduce students' misconceptions on vibration. This study used a preexperimental design by using one group pretest and posttest. The sample used purposive sampling technique for class VIII with 29 students in total. The instrument of this research was a multiple-choice diagnostic test with three alternative answers used to determine the number of misconceptions they have before and after reduction and clinical interviews. The researcher found the average change in the percentage of students' misconceptions was 86,49% and the average decrease in the percentage of students' misconceptions was 36,77%. Based on the McNemar test, it shows that there was a significant change in misconceptions with df = 1 and α = 5%. The researcher hopes this clinical interview method can be used as an alternative in reducing students’ misconceptions towards vibration material. Keywords: Clinical Interview, Reducing Misconceptions, Vibration
