- AbstractThe aim of this study to find out how the tolerance attitude of students in class X IPS5 at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency. The research method used is adescriptive method with a qualitative research form. The source of this data is thehomeroom teacher who is also a Sociology subject teacher for class X IPS 5 andstudents from class X IPS 5 at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency.Data collection techniques in this study were through observation, interviews anddocumentation, while the data collection tools used were observation guides,interview guides and documentation tools. Data analysis in this study was presentedin a qualitative descriptive manner using seven informants. The results showed that1. Freedom or independence that occurred in class X IPS 5 SMA Negeri 1 SungaiRaya, Kubu Raya Regency was categorized as good. This is proven by the ability ofstudents to recognize, accept and appreciate the differences that exist between themregarding religion and ethnicity. Then students are able to respect the opinions ofother students, are able to accept differences of opinion, students give positiveresponses, constructive input and appreciation of friends who express opinions. 2.Mutual understanding that occurs in Class X Social Sciences 5 SMA Negeri 1 SungaiRaya, Kubu Raya Regency is categorized as good. This is evident from the attitude ofunderstanding the different opinions of each student. Students of class X IPS 5 givetheir friends the opportunity to express their opinion without interrupting or makingfun of their friends' answers. Not only that, students orderly wait for each other'sturn while exercising, of course this proves that there is mutual understandingbetween them. And the number of students in Class X IPS 5 who have friends outsidetheir class proves that Class X IPS 5 students adapt to mingle and tolerate eachother with students from other classes. this is also of course related to mutualunderstanding where in relationships between individuals it is necessary tounderstand each other to avoid conflicts between them.Keywords: Attitude, Tolerance, Students
