- AbstractThe research aims to identify the profile of students' problem-solving skills and describe the difficulty of problem-solving in the momentum and impulse material in SMA N 3 Pontianak. The research used the descriptive method. The research subject was 25 chosen students based on the researcher's consideration. The students' problem-solving skill was measured with five essay test instruments. The result obtained that the students' problem-solving skill was 36.6% which was categorized as low. The data analysis result was interpreted that 68.8% was categorized as mostly experiencing difficulties. Based on the interview result, the students had problems in the 1st phase because they usually wrote what was known and asked. In the 2nd phase, students were inaccurate in reading the question so that not all quantities were written. In the 3rd phase, the students did not know how to use the formula. For the 4th phase, the students were unable to form the complete calculations process correctly. Then, in the 5th phase, the students could not recheck the answers due to limited time.Keywords: Describe, Problem solving skills
