- AbstractThis research was aimed to develop thematic teaching material based on charactereducation at SDN 34 Pontianak Selatan. The research design used in this research wasa 4D model (Four-D) within four steps such as define, design, develop, and disseminate.The quantitative data were generated from the product examination by the validatorand the questionnaires about the simplicity of the product by the teacher and students.The research instrument in this study used interview protocol, questionnaire, anddocumentation. The validity of the teaching material was based on the evaluations ofdesign experts, language experts, also teaching & learning experts. Moreover, thesimplicity of the teaching material was based on the evaluation of teacher and students.The results from the design expert and teaching & learning expert showed that theelectronic book is “sangat valid” with the average score 4.3, while from the languageexpert the score was 4.35 which was also “sangat valid”. For the simplicity, the smallgroup and the large group showed a same score which was 3.52 that represent theproduct was very practical, and from the teachers showed that the product got 3.4 scorewhich also very practical to use.Keywords: Teaching Material, Thematic, Character Education.
