- Abstrack People's daily lives often receive or even provide information. This can be obtained from the media or directly from the person concerned. One of them is through the media, namely in the form of radio. Information conveyed through radio gives a strong influence. Radio is also quite effective media because it uses interesting words. The researcher will examine radio advertisements in Sonora which are found in 10 provinces in Indonesia which are still active today and become the number 1 information media in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Purwokerto, Surabaya, Medan, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Pontianak, Surakarta. which will be investigated is the Sonora radio advertisement. Analysis of the data taken in the form of radio conversations with a qualitative approach method, advertising dialogue which is then analyzed to determine (1) locutionary speech acts (2) illocutionary speech act functions (3) advertising function in Sonora radio advertisements. The results of this study describe the illocutionary speech acts contained in Sonora radio advertisements. Illocutionary speech acts consist of 13 assertive advertisements, 46 directive advertisements, 10 advertisements commissive, 11 expressive advertisements, 3 declarative advertisements.
