  • AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of the application of Kumon in physics learningon Newton's Law II material on the interests and learning outcomes of students atSMA Negeri 11 Pontianak. This research is a quantitative research. Data collectiontechniques were carried out using interest questionnaires and pretest-posttestquestions. The experimental design used is a pre-experimental design with a onegroup pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was 33 students of class XMIPA 2 for the 2020/2021 academic year. Statistical analysis used was index analysisfor the interpretation of learning interest, Shapiro Wilk test to test the normality of thedata, and Wilcoxon signed Rank to test the hypothesis. Based on data analysis ofstudents' interest in learning using the three-box method, data on student interest inlearning shows that the value of interest in learning before learning by applying theKumon method is 71% in the high category and the index value of interest in learningafter learning is 71% in the high category. While the data on student learningoutcomes shows that the Z value (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test) is -4.530 with a p value(Asymp. Sig 2 tailed) of 0.000. Thus, it can be said that there is an increase in studentlearning outcomes in Newton's Law II material in learning courage at SMA Negeri 11Pontianak after learning by applying the Kumon method. So it is hoped that the resultsof this study can improve the quality of implementing courageous learning during theCOVID-19 pandemic.Keywords: Interest and learning outcomes, Kumon method, Newton's second law
