  • AbstractThis research aims to improve students reading comprehension by usingpictures book. This research design is Library Research. Which are threepoint such as in order to make the students easier to improve their readingcomprehension of narrative text through comic strips, To improve students’knowledge of comprehension and interest in reading, than To knowhow the implementation of pictures-stories on narrative text implementationthe students reading comprehension .To know the students readingcomprehension improvement when Picture- stories is improvement of theNinth grade of MTs n 1 Ngemplak. This research was done in five items,such as the purposes, research method which into three stages; from thesubject, technique, and analyses. And to find the teaching procedure such asmethod from the journal, the materials than the next is the researchfindings, the last is drawing conclusion. The researcher collected data fromarticles journals written by Meiliana and Ryan and Siti Masithoh. Theresult showed that the students’ problems are low to read. Thereforereading pictures book as the media in teaching learning process,Furthermore, students’ reading comprehension by using pictures book inlearning English had also improved according to the article journals. Thestudents participated well, and showed enthusiasm during teaching andlearning process. As the conclusion, eventhough the step and thepictures from the three journal were difference but the result of thethree journal were effect to build the students vocabulary better.Keywords: Improving students, Pictures Book, Reading comprehension
