- AbstractThis study aims to determine the cooperation, accommodation, and competitionbetween class VIII A students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency. Thisstudy uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects of this studywere ten students who represented each discussion group. Data collection techniquesused are data reduction, data display, conclusion and verification. The results of thistudy are as follows; (1) Cooperation in groups is showed by the division of tasks,communication between group members, and mutual respect for the contributions ofeach member. Related to responsibility fulfillment, however, some members did notcarry out their duties, and some members roamed the class. It caused the completion ofthe task to be late. (2) accommodation occurredin the form of tolerance, indicated bythe presence of groups of heterogeneous students with different backgrounds, mutualrespect, and polite words. If there is a conflict, then compromise and mutual agreementare made to resolve the problems. (3) competition between individuals appeared in theefforts of each student to be enthusiastic about contributing and expressing theirknowledge. However, the competitiveness between groups was low as there were stillgroups that used internet assistance to make it easier to complete tasks.Keywords: Group Discussion, Junior High School Student, Social Interaction.
