- AbstractThis study aims to determine the basic knowledge literacy skills of students' sociology in online learning in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak. The research approach used is descriptive quantitative survey methods. The population of this study were all students of class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak, totaling 139 students. The research sample was 104 students. Collecting data using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis used the percentage quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The general conclusion of the research shows that almost all students understand and are able to think critically about these materials and their systems in online learning, both online learning systems with various applications and assessment systems carried out by teachers in online learning in sociology subjects. The specific conclusions of the research are that: (1) Most students already understand the online learning system and the assessments carried out by the teacher (2) the students' ability to understand the basic knowledge of sociology through online learning, most of the students are classified as already understanding. (3) students' critical thinking skills related to the basic knowledge of sociology through online learning, most of the students were classified as being able to think critically.Keywords: Literacy, Sociology Basic Knowledge, Online Learning
