  • AbstractThis research aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Course ReviewHoray model with the use of the learning model that is commonly used by social studiesteachers in class IX C SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak. Effectiveness is measured by looking atdifferences in learning outcomes of class IX C students at SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak before andafter using the Course Review Horay model. The Course Review Horay model has advantagessuch as, learning is more interesting and fun so that learning is not monotonous. In addition,learning will encourage students to be more enthusiastic about learning and active, and fosterteamwork skills. The form of research used is the One Group Pretest-Posttes Designt. Thesubjects in this study were 30 students at SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak class IX C, as well as oneteacher who teaches social studies subjects. Data collection tools in this study were multiplechoice test results and observation sheets. Based on the results of the trials that were given tostudents during the study, the post-test average score was 77.67 and the pre-test score was54.16. And the standard deviation of the pre-test value is 9,206. In this study, the value of theeffect size is 2.55, so based on the applicable criteria, the value of this effect size is classifiedin the high category because it is> 1.00. So, it can be concluded that the Course Review Horaymodel is effectively applied to the social studies subject for class IX C students of SMP Negeri6 Pontianak.Keywords: Course Review Horay Learning Model, Effectiveness, Learning Outcomes.
