- Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pontianak tergolong cukup baik, dilihat dari tingkat kemampuan, kemampuan atas tergolong cukup baik, kemampuan menengah tergolong kurang baik dan kemampuan bawah sangat kurang baik. Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada aspek mengilustrasikan ide matematika dalam bentuk kata-kata dan model matematika tergolong cukup baik. dilihat dari tingkat kemampuan, kemampuan atas tergolong baik, kemampuan menengah tergolong cukup baik dan kemampuan bawah tergolong kurang baik. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis, Tingkat Kemampuan Siswa, Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel Abstract : This research aims to know the mathematical communication skills of students on the material system of linear equations in two variables in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pontianak. The methods used in this research is descriptive method with case study research. Subjects for this researches were 30 students. The result analysis of data show that the ability to communicate mathematical students on matter system of linear equations two variables in class VIII SMPN 1 Pontianak is quite good, seen from level ability, ability over is quite good, ability medium-sized appertain less well and ability under very less well. Mathematical communication ability in mathematics student aspects illustrate idea in the form of words and mathematical model appertain good enough. Viewed from the ability, ability over appertain good. capability of medium-sized appertain pretty well and less well under appertain ability.
