- Abstract This study entitled “Tolerance between College Student of Different Ethnicities in the Asrama Mahasiswa Ketapang Putra Kayong II Pontianak”. The problem of the study is, how tolerance in form of fredoom and respect the belief among ethnic diverse college student in Asrama Mahasiswa Ketapang Putra Kayong II Pontianak. The study approach used was qualitative approach with descriptive method. The collecting data techniques used were passive observation, interview and documentation. The devices that used to collect the data were observation guide, interview guide, field notes, and digital camera. The analyzing data techniques used were data reduction, presentation of the data, and the conclusion drawing. The interviewees are four people and each represent the ethnics in the dormitory, which consists of the dormitory chief (Javanese) the treasurer (Malay) the head of household sector (Dayak) and an active dorm resident (Sundanese). The study result showed that tolerance in form of freedom realized by speaking local language, and freedom of doing religious activities. Whereas, tolerance in terms of respect the belief indicated by respecting the religion through reminding each other the time of worship and respecting the culture through mutual tolerance in respecting the culture (custom) brought by the dorm residents.
