- AbstractThe study aimed at finding out how effective the use of comic-study media on the results of studying at the XI grade at Muhammadiyah high school geography 1 Pontianak. This experiment was an experimental design of a non-inventive control design group. The sample in this study usesed the two classes of XI IIS 1 as experiment class and XI IIS 2 as a control class. The study used a benchmark of multiple choice tests for later analysis using Microsoft Pograms Exel 2010 and SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The data analysis showed an experiment class average of 73.80 and a control class average of 65.83. Hypothetical testing using a Mann-Whitney test, calculations obtained a Sig. value (2-tailed). 0,02 < 0,5 because.0,02 < 0,05 Thus there was a discreancy between classes that used comic-based media and those that did not use comic-based geography at 1 Pontianak high school. The size of an effect is 0,70, which means the effective use of comic media to learn in large categorization.Keywords: Effectiveness, Media Study Comics, Study Results
