  • Abstract The background in this study is the student's sense number. Number sense is one of the abilities students must have to be able to succeed in learning mathematics. In mathematics, number sense is a person's ability to operate numbers flexibly in solving mathematical problems. In this study, the ability of number sense in question is the ability to operations numbers. Number operations are students' abilities that explain various mathematical calculations, starting from addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and factoring. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of number sense students in number material in SMP Negeri 04 Pontianak. The research method used is descriptive method in the form of case studies. Data collected using tests and interviews. The subjects of this study were 20 seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 04 Pontianak. The results of this study are students who have a high number of operation numbers is 5 people or 25%, students who have moderate number of operation numbers is10 people or 50%, and students who have a low number of operation numbers is 5 people or 25%.Keywords: Number Sense, Number Operations, Number
