PENGARUH PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA PADA MATERI HIMPUNAN KELAS VII

  • Abstrak: Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Santa Monika Sungai Raya pada materi himpunan. Penelitian ini berbentuk pra-eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Santa Monika yang berjumlah 4 kelas dan sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VII D. Tehnik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster sampling. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh skor rata-rata hasil pretest siswa sebesar 2,1 sedangkan skor rata-rata posttest siswa sebesar 5,8. Dari hasil perhitungan uji t, diperoleh thitung ttabel atau 10,9 > 1,70 maka terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh hasil bahwa pembelajaran Problem Based Learning memberikan peningkatan skor terbesar pada siswa tingkat kemampuan menengah. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi himpunan di kelas VII SMP Santa Monika Sungai Raya Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Komunikasi Matematis Abstract: This research is aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning on students mathematical communication skills SMP Santa Monika Sungai Raya on the sets material. The form of this research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research were students of class VII SMP Santa Monika which consists of 4 classes and the sample were students of class VII D. The sampling technique to be used in this research is cluster sampling. From the analysis of the data obtained, the students average pretest score is 2,1 while the students average posttest score is 5,8. From the calculation of the t-test, it is obtained the tvalue ttabel or 10,9 > 1,70. This means that there are differences in mathematical communication skills of students before and after treatment. Based on the analysis of data, the result of Problem Based Learning provides in increasing the largest score of the students middle ability level. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the Problem based Learning has an effect on students mathematical communication skills on the sets material in class VII SMP Santa Monika Sungai Raya.
