  • AbstractThis research was conducted to reveal and analyze about students’ mathematical conceptual understanding in learning by Scientific Approach Project Based Model in Statistical Material at SMK Negeri 3 Pontianak in the Academic Year of twenty fifteen or twenty sixteen. This research used descriptive method in qualitative form with one group pre and post test design. The subject of the research was students of X PM1 SMK Negeri 3 Pontianak. Meanwhile, the instrument which used to collect the data in this research consist of a test that used to measure students’ mathematical conceptual understanding in statistical material, and questionnaire of students’activity to reveal students’activities in learning by Scientific Model Project Based Approach. The result are the research showed that, students’ mathematical conceptual understanding by using Scientific Approach Project Based Model has improved. In this case, students’ mathematical conceptual understanding at the begining belongs to the low category which only got fourty one point fourteen percent. However, students mathematical conceptual understanding after learning belongs to medium category which the percentage score of sixty eigh point fourty seven percent. It can be conclud that, students’activities during learning process were quite good, while students’ attitude toward mathematics learning showed a positive trend by the Project Based Leraning Model.Keywords : Conceptual Understanding, Scientific Approach, Model Project Based Learning, Students’ Activities.
