- Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah pendeskripsian peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi menggunakan metode Inquiri Learning di kelas VIIA SMP N 2 Pontianak tahung pelajaran 2014-2015. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan bentuk penelitian adalah kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data disimpulkan beberapa hal, kemampuan siswa dalam teks ekplanasi menggunakan metode Inquiri Learning yang berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan menentukan topik, ide pokok, kerangka karangan dan kaidah bahasa (konjungsi, kohesi dan kalimat simpleks) sudah mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I dan siklus II.Kata Kunci: Peningkatan, Menulis Teks Eksplanasi, Metode Inquiri Learning Abstract: The purpose of this study is the description of the increasing of the ability to write explanatory text using the Inquiry Learning method in class VIIA SMP N 2 Pontianak academis year 2014-2015. The method used in this research is descriptive and qualitative forms of research. Based on the results of the data analysis, we can coclude several things, as follows: (1) the ability of students to write exlanatory text using the Inquiry Learning that focuses of improving the ability to determine the topic, main idea, outline and rules of language (conjunctions,cohesion, sentence simplex) has increased from cycle I adn cycle II).Keywords: Improvement, writing and explanation text, Inquiry Learning methods.
