- Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of JAS approach to student learning outcomes on ecosystem class X SMAN 1 Sekayam. The method used is an Quasy Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Samples on this study are class XA as an experimental group with 38 students and class XB as a control group with 40 students. The instrument used in this study is multiple choice objective test with 20 items. From the results, post-test score average in the experimental group was 15,974 and the control group was 13,375. Based on Mann Whitney U-Test with α= 5% obtained -1,96 > -4,82839 means there are significant difference between the classes taught by JAS approach and the classes taught by conventional approach. Effect Size calculation obtained value 0,9977 which is include in the high category and contributed for 34% to student learning outcomes, means JAS approach on ecosistem influential in improving student learning outcomes.
