  • Abstact The purpose of this study to describe the ability to read through the media card in the first grade students of State Elementary School 07 Trans Mabak.This research method using descriptive method. The subject is a first-class students of State Elementary School 07 Trans Mabak, instrument used consisted of observation sheet teachers and students (read test). Analysis of the data for the first and second sub-problems using the formula average, the third sub-problems using a percentage formula. The data source is a first-class students and teachers (researcher). Research procedure includes planning, action, observation and reflection. Results of action research study using a media card very well, as seen in the improved reading skills in each cycle is very significant. The percentage of first cycle, the accuracy in reading increased from 47.67% to 86.67% in the second cycle, fluency in reading from 40% to 73.33, activeness in reading from 53.33% to 86.67%.
