- Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk bentuk komunikasi matematis yang digunakan siswa dalam model pembelajaran geometri yang dikembangkan berdasar tahapan teori van Hiele di kelas X IPS SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi langsung dengan alat pengumpul data yaitu lembar tes dan lembar tentang aktivitas murid. Komunikasi matematis yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi komunikasi visual, verbal dan simbolik. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak 3 siklus, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) 95,92 % siswa melakukan aktivitas komunikasi dalam setiap tahapan pembelajaran, (2) Bentuk komunikasi yang paling banyak dilakukan adalah komunikasi verbal. Kata Kunci : Komunikasi Matematis, Model Pembelajaran, Teori Van Hiele Abstract: This study aims to determine the model mathematical kind of communication used by students in learning geometry wich developed based on the phases of van Hiele theory in class X IPS SMAN 8 Pontianak in West Kalimantan. The research method used is descriptive method with the classroom action research (CAR). Data collection techniques used are direct observation with a data collector that test sheet and sheet on student activity. Communication mathematically observed in this study include visual communication, verbal and symbolic. This research was conducted as many as 3 cycles, the results show that (1) 95.92% of students perform communication activities in each phase of learning, (2) form of communication is the most widely performed verbal communication.
