- Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan keterampilan siswa dalam mengerjakan latihan operasi hitung pecahan yang penyebutnya berbeda melalui aktivitas komunikasi matematis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat dengan subjek penelitian adalah kelas VII A dengan jumlah 39 siswa. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahap, yakni tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap I persentase nilai observasi aktivitas siswa 59% dengan kategori sedang, pada tahap II meningkat menjadi 74,31% dengan kategori tinggi. Pada tahap I rata-rata nilai siswa 75,26 dengan ketuntasan 66,67% dan meningkat menjadi 83,10 dengan ketuntasan 87,18%. Dengan demikian menunjukkan bahwa melalui aktivitas komunikasi matematis dapat meningkatkan kompetensi operasi hitung pecahan pada siswa. Kata Kunci: Aktivitas Komunikasi Matematis, Kompetensi Operasi Hitung Pecahan Abstract: This study aims to determine the ability of the student's skills in working practice fractional arithmetic operations are different denominators through mathematical communication activity. The method used is a action research. The research was conducted in junior Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat with research subject is class VII A the number of 39 students. The study, conducted in four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that in the first cycle the percentage of student activity observation value 59% with moderate category, on the second cycle increased to 74.31% with the higher category. In the first phase the average value of 75.26 students with the thoroughness of 66.67% and increased to 83.10 with 87.18% completeness. Thus showing that through mathematical communication activity can increase fractional arithmetic operations competence in students.
