ANALISIS KESULITAN SISWA MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA MATERI SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINEAR DUA VARIABEL DI SMP

  • Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan konsep dan prinsip yang dialami siswa kelas IX di SMP N 9 Pontianak dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dan faktor yang menyebabkan siswa mengalami kesulitan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk studi kasus. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah enam siswa kelas IX B yang dipilih dengan pertimbangan. Alat yang digunakan ialah tes tertulis yang berbentuk essay dan pedoman wawancara. Dari analisis data diketahui kesulitan dan faktor penyebab kesulitan yang dialami siswa. Kesulitan memisalkan istilah variabel, kesulitan mengubah soal cerita kedalam kalimat matematika, kesulitan melakukan operasi dengan metode eliminasi dan substitusi, kesulitan mengoperasikan penjumlahan dan pengurangan, kesulitan mendapatkan nilai pengganti variabel, dan kesulitan mengubah nilai pengganti variabel ke dalam kalimat pertanyaan. Faktor penyebab kesulitan yakni kurangnya penguasaan materi SPLDV, kurangnya ketekunan, kurang teliti saat pengerjaan soal, tidak menguasai konsep dan prinsip SPLDV. Kata kunci : Analisis Kesulitan, Faktor Penyebab Abstract : This research is aim to find out the difficulties of concept and principle faced by the ninth grade students in SMP N 9 Pontianak to solve the word problem about two variable linear equations system and the factor that cause the students experience those difficulties. The method was used in this research is descriptive with case study type. The subjects of this research are six students of Class IX B whom purpossive sampling. The instrument was used are written test in essay type and interview guideline. From the data analys it found the difficulties and the factors that cause the difficulties experienced by the students. The difficulty of substituting the variable, difficulty of transfering the word problems into mathematics sentence, difficulty of doing operation by elimination abd subtitution method, difficulty of operating addition and subtraction, difficulty of getting the replacement value of variable, and difficulty of changing the replacement value of variable into question sentence. The factors that cause the difficulties which are the lack of mastery of SPLDV, lack of dilligence, its not careful while doing the problem, its not mastering the concept and principle of SPLDV.
