THE USE OF CALF MEDIA IN GROUP WORK ACTIVITY TO IMPROVE THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENT'S LISTENING COMPETENCY IN SD NEGERI 3 SESETAN IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015

  • Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mendengarkan siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri 3 Sesetan tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 dengan menggunakan media CALF dalam kegiatan kerja kelompok. Terdapat 40 siswa yang terdiri dari 26 perempuan dan 14 laki-laki. Indikator kesuksesan yang harus diraih oleh siswa adalah 75. Terdapat 2 siklus dan 2 pertemuan di setiap siklusnya, dalam pertemuan akan diberikan perlakuan dan diakhir pertemuan dalam satu siklus akan diberikan tes. Kuisioner akan diberikan di siklus terakhir. Dari test awal, ditemukan bahwa hanya 27.5% atau 11 siswa yang mencapai indikator kesuksesan. Setelah tindakan diberikan di siklus 1, siswa yang mencapai indikator kesuksesan menjadi 62.5% atau 25 siswa. Jumlah siswa yang mencapai nilai standar meningkat di siklus 2 menjadi 85% atau 34 siswa. Di siklus 3 terdapat 92.5% atau 37 siswa yang bisa meraih kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Hasil dari catatan penulis menunjukan respon positif di dalam kegiatan yang dilakukan. Dari kuisioner, ditemukan bahwa media CALF dalam kegiatan kerja kelompok dapat membantu siswa dalam mendengarkan. Dari hasil di atas, bisa disimpulkan bahwa media CALF dalam kegiatan kerja kelompok bisa meningkatkan kompetensi mendengarkan siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri 3 Sesetan pada tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.Kata Kunci : Kegiatan belajar kelompok, Kompetensi mendengarkan, Media CALF This study was a classroom action research which aimed at improving the student’s listening competency of the fourth grade students in SD Negeri 3 Sesetan in Academic Year 2014/2015 by the use of CALF Media in Group Work Activity. There were 40 students consisting of 26 females and 14 males. The success indicator that should be achieved by the students was 75. There were three cycles and two sessions in each cycle, those sessions were giving for the treatment and in the end of the second session were given by post-test. The questionnaire was given in the last cycle. From the pre-test, it was found that there were only 27.5 % or 11 students could pass the success indicator. After the action given in Cycle 1, the students who could achieve the success indicator were 62.5% or 25 students. The number of students who could reach the standard passing grade also increased in Cycle 2 became 85% or 34 students. Finally in Cycle 3 there were 92.5% or 37 students who could achieve the minimum passing score. The result of researcher’s diary analysis showed the positive responses toward the activity. From the questionnaire, it was found that the use of CALF media in group work activity could help the students in listening. From the result above it could be concluded that the use of CALF Media in Group Work activity could improve the students’ listening competency of the fourth grade students in SD Negeri 3 Sesetan in Academic Year 2014/2015.keyword : Group Work Activity, Listening Competency, Media CALF
