  • Overfishing is actual issue in several area of Indonesia, and may be also in Coastal of Kendal. The aim of this research was to estimate optimal level explotation of demercal fisheries resources in Kendal Coastal using bioeconomic approach and to calculate the possibility of overfishing in Kendal Coastal. This research used Gordon-Schaefar model and copes model.The result of bioeconomic analysis using Gordon-Schaefar model proved exploitation of demercal fisheries resources in Kendal coastal was overexploited. If calculated using Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) approach, optimal exploitation level of demercal fisheries is 4.607 trip/year (effort), 117 tones (production) and Rp. 539 million (profit). If used Maximum Economic Yield (MEY) approach, optimal exploitation level (effort) is 3.453 trip/year, 110 tones (production) and Rp. 607 million. In open access condition, exploitation will up to 6.905 trip/year, but catch level only 88 tones.
