  • The chronic kidney disease were progressive and irreversible required hemodialysis therapy, hence hemodialysis would affected adaptation and uncertainty. The study was explored and interpreted the experience of patients were faced uncertainty and adaptation during hemodialysis. The qualitative method research conducted with phenomenology approach, there were 6 participant and purposive sampling technique was used, in Hemodialisa Units at Hospital St. Vincentius Singkawang on March-June 2017. The research instrument was researcher with depth interview and observation guidelines. An analysis data was conducted processed with NVIVO 10.00 and 11.0 Plus, the result entinc the themes in this study were pertains physical: nausea, no appetite, fluid restriction, constipation, anuria, fever, dsypnea, fatigue, contaneous dryness and itching, loss of hair from scalp, impairment of vision, menstrual disorder and libido disfunctions; adaptation with reduced the salt, fat and fluid intake, rest, use body lotion. Further more, the psychological themes were consist fear, anxiety, lifelong hemodialysis, and adaptation with supported existence. And then, social themes were included role and social interaction changes; adaptation with support. More over, religious themes was ritual change and adaptation with praying at home. Nevertheless, adaptations were financial change and adaptation with save money. At least, an uncertainties experienced by the participants included work, uncertainty about hemodialysis and had information. An implication had the positive thinking among patients during hemodialysis.The study has been recommended on the need for research about health education leads an adaptationprocess and uncertainty for patients with chronic renal failure.
