  • The background of this research was the low of activity and the results of social science in IVA class at elementary school 4 of north metro. The aims of this research were to increase the activity and learning results of social science studies through the implementation of cooperative learning model of the type of team assisted individualization through visual media. This research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) contained of two cycles of each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The data were collected through observation sheet and test instruments ineach cycle. Data analysis was using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of this research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning team assisted individualization through visual media social science studies learning can increase the activity and learning results of social science studies.Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi masih rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS kelas IVA SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS melalui penerapan Model Cooperative Learning tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) menggunakan media visual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu merencanakan, melakukan tindakan, mengamati, refleksi, dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi dan instrumen tes pada setiap siklus. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model cooperative learning tipe team asissted individualization (TAI) melalui media visual dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci: cooperative learning, team asissted individualization (TAI), media visual, aktivitas dan hasil belajar
