- The polygamy that occurs in the Desa Danau Rata community, Sungai Rotan sub-district, Muara Enim Regency is more in the factor of physical reasons for the wife, the husband thinks that the wife's age is no longer young which makes the husband not interested anymore. so that the husband intends to do polygamy and wants to find someone who is younger than the first wife. Their polygamous marriages are mostly carried out under the hands of the people due to the difficulty of the procedures stipulated by law, so they have to choose the sirri way of marriage. This research is a field research which data is taken directly from the research location, to obtain information about the practice of polygamy that often occurs in Danau Rata Village, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency, and this location is included in the area of the South Sumatra Government. In capturing the data used a qualitative descriptive approach. The purpose of the study was to determine The Polygamy Practice According To The Islamic Law (Case Study of Polygamy Practitioners in Danau Rata Village). This research method is to use qualitative data types as well as primary and secondary data sources related to the problems discussed. This data is collected by interview and documentation techniques. As for the results of the study, according to the view of Islamic law on the practice of polygamy that occurs in Danau Rata village, it can be concluded from the reasons for the polygamist because the wife is no longer young / not beautiful anymore, it is clear from this reason that the perpetrator is polygamous because of lust, and the marriage was carried out. Sirri, it is not legally valid in Indonesia, the marriage is indeed legally valid in religion because it has fulfilled the requirements and harmony of marriage, but polygamous marriage is not justified because it does not meet the requirements, both in Islamic law and the law on polygamous marriage in Indonesia.
