- Cancer is a general term for abnormal cell growth that can infiltrate normal body system that affects body function.The increased prevalence of cancer will lead to an increased need for cancer therapy which one of them ischemotherapy. Non-optimal handling of the effects of chemotherapy can cause discomfort that induces anxiety. Thisanxiety can be overcome by family support. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between familysupports with anxiety in a cancer patient who underwent chemotherapy at ArifinAchmad Hospital. This research wasdesigned in cross-sectional correlation. The sample was 30 respondents taken based on inclusion criteria by usingpurposive sampling technique. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires and the anxiety using HARS. Thedata were analyzed by chi square statistic test with alternative testfisher's exact and showed the result that there was norelationship of family support and anxiety with p value (1.0) > α (0.05). Based on the results of this study, nurses areexpected to modify the environment to reduce anxiety.Keywords : Anxiety, Cancer, Family support
