  • The rapid development of the digital world has opened wider networks for the formation of the global economy, which has also led to the emergence of various business transactions involving many financial technology-based financial companies (Fintech), which provide services similar to banking functions. Fintech is expected to drive the industrial revolution in the form of online digital technology, which is based on new technology that will change the entire production and management chain in each branch of industry. The Fintech company is growing rapidly and significantly in Indonesia, where the Fintech sub-sector is seen to flourish, namely lending and e-wallet where e-wallet is believed to be the most potential Fintech sub-sector. Fintech business actors who develop the most popular e-wallet services and the most users in Indonesia are GoPay and OVO, which will be the focus of discussion in this research. In conducting their business activities, price war and promotion wars cannot be avoided by these two e-wallets. Unfair pricing practices and promotions between the two Fintech companies lead to predatory pricing which will eliminate the bargaining position of consumers with business actors because unhealthy practices will leave only one dominant player in the market. This article aims to provide an in-depth analysis and understanding of the indications of predatory pricing in the practice of price wars between GoPay and OVO. The competition promotion practice will be linked and analyzed in terms of business competition law based on Law no. 5 of 1999 and other relevant laws and regulations. In addition, the author will compare the application and regulation related to business competition, especially for Fintech business actors in other countries, in this case Japan.
