- The formation of political parties comes from citizens who voluntarily have the same will and ideals to fight for the interests of the state, society, nation and state, this is the beginning why political parties deserve to be funded by the APBN, because basically political parties consist of citizen too. Then formed and enacted Law Number 2 of 2011 on Basic Regulation of Political Parties and Government Regulation Number 1 of 2018 on Basic Regulation of Political Party Assistance, the financial assistance of political parties sourced from the APBN was raised to Rp. 1.000,00/votes. The increase in political party funds was based on the aim of suppressing the number of corruption. Problems such as corruption are considered to be overcome by the implementation of a mechanism for increasing funding from the APBN to political parties, where later the source of funding from the APBN will become the main source of party finance. With the existence of a funding mechanism from the state budget, it will certainly cover the possibility of illegal contributions and special interests, because the party's budgetary needs are fulfilled and covered with funds from the APBN. This will provide space for the state to conduct an audit of the political parties themselves. The state has the authority to dissolve political parties that are indicated to violate the funding provisions. With regard to financial assistance provided by the state to political parties, political parties are required to submit accountability reports on the receipt and expenditure of financial assistance from the APBN and to the BPK on a yearly basis. For political parties that do not provide accountability reports, administrative sanctions will be imposed, they will not receive financial assistance the following year until the government receives an accountability report by the political party.
