- Budgeting and forecasting are two essential management tools to anticipate needs and to avoid crises. A budget is a plan made a year in advance that provides guidelines for expenditure and serves for the analysis of the performance of a business. Forecasting is extrapolating previous performance on to a period in future and coming up with numbers taking into account extraneous factor. Project is a business activities that has a big risks if the budgeting is not done properly project budget is a pivotal tool that will be used by several different groups involved in the project. A yearly project in PT X industry, HICO Scan as Security system business line in an electronics tools for good scanning and project fund for State Institution in Bandung are subjects for this research. The research makes projects cost forecasting by using Least Square and Square Quantitative method which will be compared with company qualitative method. The best result is determined by the least error standard.
