Tranexamic Acid and Nicotinamide Combination Using Microneedling in Melasma Treatment

- This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the combination of 3% tranexamic acid, 3% nicotinamide, and microneedling verses Kligman's formula in reducing melanin index. This type of research is an experiment with a clinical experimental pre and post-control group study approach. The research sample consisted of 28 people. The research subjects consisted of two groups, consisting of 14 samples. Check the assessment points carried out at the beginning of use, the fourth week, the eighth week, and the twelfth week. The efficacy of the treatments was determined through the Mexameter®. The statistical analysis used the chi-square test. The p-value of < 0.05 statistically significant. The results showed that the melanin index decreased in both groups without statistically significant differences (p > 0.05). The effectiveness of decreasing the melanin index in group A occurred significantly from the eighth to the twelfth week. While the decrease in the melanin index in group B began to appear in the twelfth week. Therefore, the combination therapy of 3% tranexamic acid, 3% nicotinamide, and microneedling has the same effectiveness as the modified Kligman formula (hydroquinone 4%, tretinoin 0.05%, and fluocinolone acetonide 0.01%) in reducing the melanin index.
- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efikasi kombinasi asam traneksamat 3%, nikotinamida 3%, dan formula microneedling ayat Kligman dalam menurunkan indeks melanin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan studi kelompok pre and post control eksperimental klinis. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 28 orang. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok yang terdiri dari 14 sampel. Periksa poin penilaian yang dilakukan pada awal penggunaan, minggu keempat, minggu kedelapan, dan minggu kedua belas. Kemanjuran perawatan ditentukan melalui Mexameter®. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji chi-square. Nilai p < 0,05 signifikan secara statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks melanin menurun pada kedua kelompok tanpa perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik (p > 0,05). Efektivitas penurunan indeks melanin pada kelompok A terjadi secara signifikan dari minggu kedelapan hingga kedua belas. Sedangkan penurunan indeks melanin pada kelompok B mulai terlihat pada minggu ke-12. Oleh karena itu, terapi kombinasi asam traneksamat 3%, nikotinamida 3%, dan microneedling memiliki efektivitas yang sama dengan formula Kligman yang dimodifikasi (hydroquinone 4%, tretinoin 0,05%, dan fluocinolone acetonide 0,01%) dalam menurunkan indeks melanin.
