- Cast iron prefer hard to welding, in application still more fail into welding cast iron. So that in welding cast iron needs some treatment, such as preheating. Its purpose to make easy to do welding and add welding power. Welding process is doing by SMAW methode with preheating 5°C and without preheating, and also cooling process with uses sand river and air slowly. Welding test for cast iron is doing by structure micro test, because of that it will see a different between welding with preheating and welding without preheating, and also, welding is doing by sand river and air slowly. From research data was found preheating process still more grafit on iron after welding, in another hand non preheating process, grafit pretent make whole in one side.
